Claim a pub
Using the "Claim this pub" feature
A new feature of the site is the provision for landlords, owners or managers to “claim” a pub or bar’s listing. This has numerous benefits, including adding your website address, more contact information, more photos, videos, events and your own comments on the pub.
PLEASE NOTE: You should do Claim a Pub ONLY if you’re the landlord, manager, owner or their representative.
How to claim a pub
Go to your pub’s page on the fancyapint.com and scroll down to near the bottom. On the right hand side, there’s a box that says “Is this your pub? Claim this listing to add your pub's web site, more photos or other information about your pub.”
Click on the link “Claim this listing” - this takes you to the “Claim a pub” page, which should display your pub’s name at the top.
For security purposes (to ensure the right person is claiming it so we don’t get fraudulent claims), you’ll need to complete the name of the licensee and your details as well as indicating you’ve read the terms and conditions. You’ll then get a screen asking you to confirm your claim.
Once you confirm the claim, you’ll be taken to a page where you can add features, events, opening times and the style of your pub or bar as well as more photos, an overview and description of your pub, directions, videos and menus if you wish. You will also receive an email to the address you used when you registered confirming your claim.
Clicking on “Update details” takes you to your pub’s listing and you can then add your website or other information on the page by clicking on ‘Edit’ at the top of the page.
Update the details you feel need amending and click on ‘Continue’. By clicking on “Update details” on the now familiar page that follows, you’re finished updating your entry!
How to dispute a claim
Go down the page to the box on the right hand side that indicates the pub has been claimed. Click on “Dispute Claim” and you’ll be taken to the page for entering your dispute. You’ll get a message saying:
You have started a dispute for The Ferry House. We’ll investigate and let you know what we decide in a few days”
You should receive an email shortly with the details of your dispute.
We’ll look at the claim and make a judgement as to the veracity of the dispute. If we have any questions, we may contact you directly to get more information.
