The Red Lion Hotel, Beaminster
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Red Lion Hotel is a decent village local. It's got a bit of something for everyone: beer, food, entertainment and conversation - it's a gathering place for townsfolk and walkers after a day in the countryside, for refreshment and relaxation. The pub is just up the road from Bridport, so naturally, Palmer's Ales are featured here - unfortunately, we were unable to try any on our visit, as a wake held here the day before had emptied the pub of beer! Still the atmosphere was friendly and jolly and a pint or two of cider was a perfectly acceptable substitute. We'd also heard great things about the Sunday carvery, but again our timing was poor and we missed that too. Nevertheless, we had a jolly, relaxed time here and if we're in the area again, we'll be popping in to try the beer.
