Kings Head, Bildeston
FancyaPint?'s review...
As nearby Lavenham and Long Melford soak up the majority of this part of Suffolk's tourism trade, the small village of Bildeston manages to maintain a market village atmosphere where everyone knows everyone and without worrying when the first Starbucks will be opening. The Kings Head is located just off the town square and starts off with a cosy front room of a pub, complete with bar, dart board, fireplace, plenty of seating and pictures on the wall being sold by a local artist. Head around the easily-missable side passage and you'll make your way to a beer garden which is home to the pub's own brewery. And some cracking pints they make too. The current landlord has only been brewing for 3 years but there's been a brewery there since 1997. We knocked back some Best and a light ale called Blondie before reluctantly having to leave and wondering when we'll next be back to try some of the delicious looking menu. A great village local with a very subtle modern twist.
