After leaving Conqueror we came to the conclusion we had mixed feelings about this pub. First up, this is an attractive looking pub hidden away on a back street, with friendly staff and a good vibe. Indeed, we certainly had a pleasant enough time here, supping our pint of Landlord. However, the refurbishment it seems to have received at some point in the last couple of years leaves something to be desired - the interior paint job isn't great, the furniture more at home in a Starbucks and the signage outside looks dated in a 1980s kind of way. Still, there is plenty of food offered, with the Sunday roast promoted heavily and a solid choice of music. As part of a pub crawl this makes a good place to stop, but for us we hankered after something a little more interesting. Oh and one final thing: spelling pedants look away now, as there were four spelling mistakes in a simple notice about not smoking outside, while the food menu was littered with them.
