The Dover Castle, Brighton
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Dover Castle is one of the numerous pubs located in the pretty Hanover area of Brighton. An attractive pub from the outside it is hard to find Shepherd Neame pub. As such expect a good choice of their own ales, all well kept. The interior is a little sparse for our tastes, in the stripped out mid 2000s look we all come to expect, but the subtle lighting still made it feel warm and cosy. On our Sunday night visit it was pretty quiet, but the staff were faultlessly friendly and we spied a band setting up to play as we left. It was a shame that we had to endure an entire Sinead O'Conner album during our time here, but we'll put that down as a one-off. They make a big deal of the food here and our Sunday roasts were accordingly very good indeed. There is so much pub choice in this part of Brighton, but the The Dover Castle is certain one to consider.
