There are apparently something like 300 pubs in Brighton, so it's no wonder that many of the pubs in this town have gone all out on making sure they offer something a little bit special or alternative. This particular pub however does not particularly follow this trend. Slightly off the main strip, we originally came here in search of somewhere that could be a little quieter than most of the places in such a busy town, but it isn't. It's always packed and you'll never get a seat and it's not really big enough to handle it - even standing up it's a squash. If it was a bit bigger it might also accommodate the energetic ones among the crowd, the DJ booth only seems to spur on a bop wanting atmosphere but with a missing dance floor it seems a little pointless. The drinks, atmosphere and ambience are fine, but inside this pub you could be anywhere - whereas most of the competition around provides something that makes you know you are in a funky town like Brighton. This pub might have got a higher rating if it was somewhere else.
