The Commercial Rooms is a typical Wetherspoon establishment - yet another huge Victorian commercial building, converted to serve (decent, it must be said) cheap booze and instant pub grub to the masses. Often these conversions are palaces of High Victorian art, with Gothic or Greek revival interiors, but this one is more in the style of Caesar's Palace - Blackpool style - a garish mishmash of poorly-executed pastiche. Still, for most punters here, such aesthetic niceties are a secondary consideration, sustenance and socialising being the prime concerns and the Commercial Rooms does this job as competently as many other Wetherspoons.
