The Stag and Hounds might look olde worlde on the outside, but inside you'll find a typically 21st century take on the British pub - a contemporary dark wood interior, dark squashy settees, high powered sound system and three hand pumps that normally would be serving Otter Brewery bitters, but sadly all were off when we were in. Still, the three ciders on draft made up for it. The scent of Pieminster pies filled the air, but it was a little too early in the evening for us to indulge, although it was tempting. it's a comfortable, clean and friendly enough place, but it is located on a busy junction, so you'll encounter a transient clientele - people with trolley bags and single drinkers (especially early evening), but the big speakers and a disco lights hint at busier weekends
