We had just made the comment that we hadn't seen many Sam Smith's pubs in Bristol (like none) when we stumbled onto this one. And a lovely pub it is too. The interior is probably what you would expect from one of their pubs, and it doesn't disappoint with open fires and dark woodwork. Okay, forget for the moment that it's on King Street - it's still a good place to go, as evidenced by the genial locals and students (there for the cheap beer, no doubt) that were in when we got there. With friendly and efficient staff and the usual Sam Smith's fayre, we felt right at home. They have a selection of board games if you don't really like talking to your drinking buddies - giant Jenga always goes down well to break those awkward silences. Definitely one to go out of your way for, well, if you like Sam Smith's pubs.
