Weeping Willow, bury st edmunds
After nine months of renovation, we were so proud to finally open the doors of this much loved local. A few months on and we're still excited about this wonderful venture. This listed Pub dates from the early 16th century and had been closed for three years but has now been lovingly restored and expanded with vision to create a very modern country pub. The Weeping Willow is owned by Paula and Peter Romaniuk. Paula Pryke OBE is a renowned florist and Peter Romaniuk is a top Architect. The Willow holds many special memories for a lot of locals and with over 500 years as an Inn it has become a loved asset to the community of Barrow and the environs.
Based in the heart of Suffolk, The Weeping Willow has a wealth of local breweries and drinks suppliers on the doorstep. Step in to experience the specially selected ales, beers, ciders and fruit cordials in a relaxed, family friendly environment. The Bar has been designed to have ale at one end and Champagne at the other so there is something for everyone’s thirst!
Our talented head chef, Nick Claxton- Webb and our manager, Martin Edwards, first worked together at nearby Ickworth Hotel. They are delighted to be working together again on such an exciting new and innovative venture. They are both very experienced in hospitality having worked at most of the well renowned establishments in East Anglia.
The mouthwatering menu aims to cater for everyone (including children) using locally and seasonally sourced produce; from Nibbles and Picky Bits to Willow Classics and from small plates to delicious desserts. All dietary requirements are considered in the design of the menu.
