The Swan is one of the better pubs in Buxton, traditional in look, with a number of small rooms and a strangely large amount of nautical paraphernalia. The crowd is slightly older but they seem friendly enough and there are a couple of decent ales on tap. Sky Sports is played on the TV, but it doesn't seem to be particularly intrusive. Perhaps not the pub for a lively Friday night, the Swan holds its own very well and is worth a popping in for a couple of pints.

Exit right out of the train station, onto Station Road. At the roundabout, turn left onto Terrace Road. This becomes 'High Street' where you'll soon see the pub on the right.
