Castle Inn, Cambridge
FancyaPint?'s review...
Sat a little way out of central Cambridge, the Castle Inn is an excellent and popular Adnams pub. Its a deceptively large place, with numerous areas to ensconce yourself away. The decor is traditional, with simple wooden chairs and tables and plenty of plants to add character. There's also a vaulted room upstairs and an impressive multilevelled beer garden. The food, which certainly looked hearty, was being enjoyed by many of the punters, but it still felt like a proper pub. This was testified by the numerous ales on offer; beyond a choice from the Adnams portfolio were numerous guest brews too. Nothing to compete with the likes of the Cambridge Blue, but still very good indeed. You can also sample three one third of a pint ales for £3.20, which is a nice idea. A good, solid all round pub, worthy of a four pint rating.
