Placed anywhere else, this would be a very pleasant 1930's pub. An Everards pub down as far as Cambridge is a fairly rare thing (there are only two in the town), so if you're into their brews - Sunchaser, Tiger and the like - you'll be happy here. A large mock Tudor building, there plenty of wood panelling inside to give a bit of character, while the sign outside promises pizza to fill the hunger pangs. The problem is - and even the address is a clue - the Castle Inn over the road rather outshines this one. So although it was midweek, while the County Arms was very quiet, the opposition was lively and bustling. Its also just far away from the centre to miss the tourist trade. Still, if you fancy a quiet pint, the County Arms is just fine.
