Cambridge had a disproportionate number of quality pubs, but Live and Let Live is arguably amongst the best on offer. Another classic in every sense, it is certainly worthy of a visit. Sat in a back street location, this is a traditional style place with simple, almost sparse, dark decor and wooden furniture. No fruit machines or other such frippery here - the selling points are the atmosphere and beer. The excellent choice of ale easily draws you in, while the easy-going banter and friendly service make you stay longer than you intended. Simple but hearty pub grub will help quash the hunger pangs, but don't expect anything drizzled in balsamic jus. Oh and watch out for the opening hours - there's no all day drinking here, with the place shutting for the afternoon from 2.30pm and not opening until the evening.
