The Alexandra Arms, Cambridge
FancyaPint?'s review...
It is never a good idea to judge a book by its cover and the Alexandra Arms is one such example. What appears like it'd be a cosy, traditional pub lacks any real character inside and could almost pass for a coffee shop. Students are clearly the intended target and the entertainment provided for them came from a music TV channel on our visit, though it was barely audible despite one punter's best efforts to turn it up. Before writing this off as one to avoid it is worth noting that its quiet backstreet location makes the tables at the front a pleasant spot to stop off for a pint, or for an even more secluded option, check out the tiny beer garden at the rear.
