The Cambridge Blue, nestled among the terraced houses of Gwydir Street, has been serving the community for around 150 years and remains popular to this day with locals and real ale aficionados. The original section is split into two small rooms, which are simply furnished and retain a traditional feel, with rowing memorabilia and a plethora of foreign bank notes hanging from the ceiling for decoration. There is also a conservatory which leads out into a well kept garden. It's a good idea to bring someone whose company you enjoy as there is no music or TV as a distraction and texting isn't an option because of the pub's mobile phone ban. There is a lengthy selection of ales on tap, including many guest beers, and a small choice of home-cooked food. There is little to fault here, so much so that even a rude pensioner couldn't spoil our enjoyment the first time we visited.
