The George sits in the shadow of Peveril Castle and has some great views out to the surrounding hills. On sunny days the benches out front are the place to be but don't let that take anything away from the cosy bar. Food is very good and if you're staying the night, the full Englishes are superb quality. This pub also holds all the aces if single malt whisky is your thing. The collection that we found behind the bar is one of the best we've seen. There's plenty of choice in this village when it comes to pubs but this one is one of the top contenders.
