A popular pub name in this region, in total eight Yellow Lions are known to have existed within 20 miles of Sheffield at one time or another, although it appears that none of the locals is quite sure why (it may be heraldic, we understand). Alas, there's not really an awful lot more to say about this pub, other than the fact that the landlord got fined in summer 2008 for permitting smoking. It's friendly enough, though - apparently it's a popular meeting place for gays and lesbians - and on our visit it had been lovingly bedecked in a Hallowe'en theme, from ceiling to floor. The beer is disappointing, though, with practically nothing in the way of real ale (unless you count John Smiths) available on our visit, and the place had an empty, transient feel despite the background music. If you do go, beware going into the wrong toilet as the gents and ladies signs are practically indistinguishable in the gloom...

Theinformation on thiks page is very much out of date. New landlords took over the pub in Aug 2009 and have a great DJ playing every Friday and Saturday night.
