Visited this pub on 06/07/13 as it advertised "Carvery every day" but when we entered the restaurant we were quickly served with a drink but then informed that the carvary is only available at lunchtime, this now being 7 o'clock at night. We both ordered what was advertised on menu as home made curry and rice, this being chicken, although this info was not included in menu. The meal turned up and was placed in front of us and straight away we noticed the distinct lack of curry aroma but proceeded to taste the meal, it turned out to be completely void of any flavour or seasoning at all save for a minor chilli hit at the back of your throat occasionally. I had to season the dish liberally twice with salt and add the mango sauce, which came with the dish, in order to experience any flavour. Due to being hungry, we both continued to eat the dish, which although edible, could not by any stretch of the imagination be called "Curry". When approached y staff and asked if meal was "OK" we told them our views and were promptly offered a 50% reduction on the Curry price but this makes constructive complaint seem like an attempt to avoid paying. Unfortunately we feel that we were attracted in under false advertising and then received a less than adequate meal. We had passed an Indian restaurant on our way back from Selsey to the Anchor but the thought of carvery drove us on. Staff were more than willing and tried to appease but this place needs to be avoided if good food is expected. Additionally "Pompadom" was deep fried and sodden in oil when brought to the table and at £9 per curry, way over priced even if it had been excellent. Coffee and tea not great either, no sweetners available as option although their lager shandies are tasty.
