Overview

The Blacksmiths is a newly renovated pub situated on the outskirts of the historical city of Chichester in the old village of Donnington.

Restored in a relaxed and comfortable style with a few quirky twists, guests can enjoy the blazing fire and homely charm of the anvil bar or the snug elegance of the dining room. There are also three uniquely furnished double bedrooms and a large garden area with outdoor seating, fire pits and our own herb and salad garden. Children will also love visiting the chickens, which supply all our eggs.

Located close to the Chichester canal towpath, The Blacksmiths is a perfect stop off point for a refreshing pint, or perhaps an extended afternoon on the terrace. Whether you are visiting by bike, boot or boat – we look forward to welcoming you.

Detailed Description

Located above the pub are three double bedrooms with bathrooms, all with views out over the surrounding countryside and towards Chichester canal. Each room is individually furnished with its own unique style but all with the same attention to detail and with everything you need to make your stay relaxing and comfortable.

At The Blacksmiths our aim is to offer deliciously innovative menus that emphasise the very best seasonal produce, sourced locally or grown on site from the herb garden or on our farm.

In addition to our dining menu we offer bar snacks that are ideal for sharing; hearty and wholesome salads and healthy but fun menus for children – which will please parents knowing their brood are having a balanced meal.

Our passion for fresh produce means our menus aren’t pages long but are a carefully selected range of delicious dishes packed full of seasonal British ingredients.

Whether joining us for lunch, dinner or a special occasion, our menus combine the finest ingredients with creative flair to bring you a surprisingly healthy eating experience that you will want to come back to.

Our drinks menu also features many local flavours, including a selection of local ales, a large choice of mainly organic wines and local sparkling wine from Tinwood Estate.
