The Ramblers Rest is a charming pub in a place not really renowned for charming pubs. Maybe slightly ill-named seeing as we're in the heart of suburbia where driving some kind of off-road four wheel drive is more common than actually walking anywhere. Nevertheless, the name and (verging on) rural location in the more historical end of Chislehurst make for a pleasant country pub experience. You can almost hear the sound of leather against willow - oh actually you can, they're playing cricket across the road. The pub is well maintained and has a beer garden as well as ample space out front to sit and enjoy a pint. The range of beers was impressive for a suburban pub - we counted four real ales, including Brakespear and Bombardier. One for a sunny evening or a post-Caves (the other good thing about Chislehurst) tipple.
