Rose & Crown, Chorleywood
FancyaPint?'s review...
Be slightly envious of the lucky residents of Chorleywood: they really have a disproportionate number of excellent pubs to choose from. The Rose and Crown - opposite Chorleywood Common, doesn't let the side down. It's a small place, with a front bar only large enough for 20 or so people, while the larger back section was filled with people enjoying an excellent looking Sunday roast on our visit. That, in fact, was the problem. Although we managed to get the last seats in the house, virtually everyone else was eating, making it feel a little too restauranty. Still, its probably testament to the quality of the food and considering they only serve until about 3pm, we assume it becomes more pub-like after that. Service from the tiny bar was first class and you'll find three well kept Fuller's ales to choose from. With an amiable, relaxed atmosphere, we're perfectly happy to award a four pint rating.
