A good straightforward boozer this, with an excellent range of beers. Adnams dominates the taps (including a rare summer sighting of Oyster Stout), but there was a decent selection of other real ales and the friendly bar staff were happy to offer advice and recommendations. There are a few nice touches (a good-sized shelter for the smokers in the beer garden, for instance) and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. It's a spacious enough pub and just a short hop from the station, so if you're passing this way you could do worse than take a look in.
