Claims to be Dartford's oldest pub and even life-long sceptics like ourselves have no good reason to doubt that. The black and white-fronted building certainly feels very traditional inside and being owned by Shepherd Neame there's a good range of their usual brews on offer along with a seasonal offering. We picked a quiet moment but there were still a few locals dotted about, some enjoying the garden area out the back. A tribute to the former pub cat Fletcher (RIP) also caught our eye and it seems he has a Facebook tribute page and even once received a mention in the national press.
