Crown Hotel, Downham Market
FancyaPint?'s review...
It seems that every pub in Downham Market is also a hotel, which is in itself is no bad thing. Off all of them, the Crown Hotel is probably the best. Clearly a very old building, it looks like it was once a coaching inn and the interior, although recently refurbished in part , still has a warm traditional feel. There is plenty of old wood present along with interesting features and fireplaces. On tap you'll find a rather good selection of real ale, some from local brewers. Food is reasonably prices and from what we saw comes in generous portions. There is even space in the old alley alongside the pub while although not a sun trap is still pleasant enough. Overall a solid, well run pub and worth visiting if in the area.
