The Swan Inn is a pretty looking pub with an interesting history. Apparently King Charles I stayed (in disguise) at the Swan Inn in Downham Market following his loss at the Battle of Naseby in 1646. Today, however, it's not quite the place for royalty anymore and is rather down-at-heel. Arguably the least enticing pub in the town, the interior is a bit tired and there was a lack of interest on the beer taps. There is a B&B attached, if you need a cheap bed for the night, but otherwise we'd suggest there are more interesting places in Downham to have a drink.

Not sure what fancyapints review is all about!?
It really is not as bad as he makes it sound!
I have uploaded recent pictures so you can take a look for yourselves!
We are all really friendly here and do not deserve that review.

From Downham station, exit onto Railway Road and walk into town. As Railway Road becomes Bridge Street, turn left onto the High Street where you'll see the Swan Hotel.
