A classic styled pub, serving dependable ale. The pub is quite large with benches and panelled booths, allowing punters to watch footy on TV or to chat. Time was, when seeking out a Berts Bar was not unreasonable, given the solid boozing creditials a traditional tile and wood feel gives a pub. Now that is unlikely, as the ubiquitous Spirit Group special offers plastered on every surface really bring the tone down. It's not like they need to fool us with prices- we know! They offer 3 great beers (Well's, arran & Deuchars) as well as plenty of fizzy stuff on tap. There is pub grub with pies from �1.50, a reasonable wine list and the service was fine. Close, but no cigar.
