The famous (or should we say 'infamous'?) brewery, notable for it's penchant for very strong beers and rather peculiar containers for its beer has opened a second bar, this time in Edinburgh's Cowgate. Just opened this last March, the slightly industrial interior has a surprisingly good atmosphere to go with the killer beers. When we were in, the beers ranged from 5.5% up to a dangerous 27.5%! Champions of craft beer, we have to give them credit for keeping standards up as well as the alcohol content - the beer's still drinkable, regardless of the ABV. If you like interesting beer, this should be right up your alley. The staff here are pleasant and chatty and the regulars, including a few students (not a surprise) ranged through all ages, which impressed us more, perhaps. We like this one and will be back when we're next in Edinburgh. That said, they've got one planned for Camden which we may just have to visit in the meantime.
