This is a fantastic bar with a real sense of history, if you are in the area it is a must. This Morningside pub doesn't look like much from the outside but it is a real gem. It has not changed for years and that's what makes it special. There is always a good range of beers and an unbelievable collection of whiskeys, food is honest and tasty. I have been there many times and cannot go to Edinburgh without popping in, the staff are formal and quite friendly... the staff could be a little more relaxed but somehow their professional, slightly distant attitude seems to work for this bar. The overall atmosphere is warm and there are loads of cosy corners and plenty of unusual pieces of bric a brac to keep you interested. I look forward to my next visit.
