King's Wark, Leith
FancyaPint?'s review...
This is the sort of place that makes you feel enveloped by the past, safe inside its four or five foot thick stone walls nestling on a cobbled street by the Water of Leith, a few hundred yards from the docks. This little building can genuinely trace its pedigree back perhaps half a millennium. OK, perhaps the renovation is too pristine, everything too perfect but this eating and drinking house is built to outlast any short-term criticisms. There’s a good range of beer, a reasonable wine list, understated gastro pub food at sensible prices, civilised staff and comfortable seating. Head there if you are ever anywhere near by.
