For a high street devoid of almost any chain stores at all, its a shame that all three pubs are offerings from perennially average chains. This branch is Wishing Well is much like any other - the decor is like a Wetherspoon from an alternate universe, but at least the live music can prove a useful distraction from the silent screams of the more ingrained regulars. In the liveliness stakes it picks up in the evening, but ultimately its best left to the locals of Borehamwood.

Some great nights in this pub. The locals are friendly and when I was there the live music was a solo singer called Jean Marie who was fantastic. They do Thai meals as well...

How to find the Wishing Well pub

Come out of the train station onto Station Road, turn right onto the high street (Shenley Road). The pub is on the left about halfway down the parade of shops.
