The Minster Tavern is a handsome looking Victorian pub, sat in the shadow of Ely Cathedral. The outside, sadly, is as good as it gets. Owned by a group called Great Value Pubs, it is indeed competitively priced. The front area is the most cosy place to sit in and while it goes back further than you realise, it gets increasingly bland as it does so. Service was fine, but hardly enthusiastic and there are a couple of popular ales available. If we come to Ely again we probably won't come here, but if you want a quick drink in the centre of town it will most likely fit the bill.
