A Wetherspoon in an airport that wasn't entirely awful? Perhaps it was the early hour, or the ease with which the Bloody Mary went down, but if you ignored all the suitcases scattered about and the screen flashing various departure information, it felt a bit like a pub. It seemed to be an older style Wetherspoon, like the ones they had before ironically going down that 'airport departure lounge' look (whether or not they were in airports). Old looking tiles, junk shop books on shelves and wooden panelling were all present and correct. The choice of ale was decent and the aforementioned Bloody Mary well made. If we happen to be in the South Terminal of Gatwick again anytime soon we'll pop in.
