There are a few things to be said about the Drummond and most of them are entirely positive.
There is a good selection of brands on the bar and a number of real ales that change frequently -all to the good. Food seems reasonably priced and popular hearabouts and there is the usual mix of after work drinkers and student-types both eating and drinking. It's opposite the cricket ground too so picks up a bit of a sporty following. There's an outdoor area, popular when not cast into shadow by the buildings opposite and an attempt at cocktails that's a little more than half-hearted.
But when we've visited it has just lacked a little something...personality? A USP if you will. It is a good pub with a good offer, but just lacking a little bit of soul - which may be down to the distinct trading styles - lunch, after work, late-ish night - no regular trade to really hang its' hat on.
Kind of damning with faint praise perhaps.

Good pub - decent food, Leffe cold and does the job! 3 ales on when here and probably the best pint in Guildford!
