A splendidly (and appropriately) olde-worlde little pub in the heart of the old town. Everything is just what you'd hope for in such a location - excellent real ales on the hand pumps, exposed oak, beams, old-fashioned service, locals who could have been there twenty years or twenty minutes and a dark and cosy atmosphere. Apart from the odd bit of the 20th century technology, dotted here and there, you get the feeling that this place has stayed more or less the same over the centuries, let's hope it continues.

How to find the The Cinque Ports Arms pub

Hastings station: head down the hill from the station to the sea front. Turn left (east) and walk along the sea front until you get to the point where the road turns left up the hill and becomes the Old London Road. Walk a little further and the next left is All Saint's Street, walk along here for a short while and you'll soon se the pub on your left. This is the nicer walk from the station, you could take a sort cut through the shopping area, but what's the point of being at the seaside if you're not actually beside the sea - it's about a 20-25 minute walk from the station.
