We have to admit to higher hopes than this. Overlooking Hatfield Heath this old pub still has a number of original features, including a nice fireplace and low ceilings. Shame then that the White Horse suffers from one of those slightly careless refurbishments which have affected more than one country pub. Modern leather cubes attempt to look sophisticated, but just look incongruous, while Sunday afternoon didn't seem the right time to be blaring out very average house music. The drinkers here seemed to be happy enough, but we decided to move on pretty quickly.

The White Horse has suffered in recent years over revolving door management. It's probably only still open because it's within walking distance of the whole village and is a lot, lot better than The Stag!
