The closest pub to mine, but I wouldn't say it's my local, as I go to the Barrels in town a lot more than the Monnie. That said, the pub has nice bar staff, good food, Sky and Pool and a good range of drinks. A problem with the Monument is it is a busy pub and can be hard to get seats and it can take a while to get a drink. Another problem is the price of a drink. Whilst £3.20 (for a Strongbow) or £3.80 or something (for a Bulmers)might not seem too bad, when the same drink is £2.70 at the Barrels or £2.15 at Wetherspoons (King's Fee), it makes you question the Monument (Greene King) as prices elsewhere are so much cheaper and as an eighteen year old, this is crucial. The pub is however welcoming, despite the expense and the patio at the front of the pub is nice.
