This is an agreeable place to spend an evening - a nice, old fashioned pub (with restaurant included), smartly furnished and well-attended. A reasonable enough selection of things to drink-a couple of real ales, although, unfortunately, not necessarily local ones, on the hand pumps, a selection of wines, too. On our visit a lot of attention was being paid to a local Labrador, whose good behaviour and smartness fitted in well with the general mood of the pub. Even on a summer evening, there was a fairly even mix of locals and tourists: there is a more obvious tourist-oriented pub on the banks of Hickling broad, whereas the Greyhound is a 10-minute walk into the village. One unexpected bonus - the flint element of the building (which dates back to the 17th century) seems to block out mobile phone reception.
