Superb pub that looks like an old fashioned tenancy from the outside but which transforms tardis-like into a huge beer gardened venue as you step into the welcoming bar area. The beer garden is one of the things that makes this pub - the other is the quality of the welcome and the local's atmosphere.
Three ales on - Pride, Doom Bar and a rotating guest - usually Rebellion - all in reasonable nick.
Food is cheap - bar meals from about £4 and up - but not a measure of quality; it is all good. And when you can get a seat you'll be in for the night such is the atmosphere created in the pub. On a good Summer night the garden comes into it's own and is a great place to sit and let the sun soak into your bones.
I loved it and if you can find it, I suspect you will too. Good pub with sensible values.
