High Street, Hook Norton, Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, OX15 5NH
Set in rural Oxfordshire, The Sun Inn is a country pub at the heart of the village. While you can be assured of cosy log fires, oak beams and flagstone floors, we’d like to think that the outstanding local ales, fine British food and excellent wines will keep you coming back.
The Sun Inn is a pub and restaurant with six delightful en-suite bedrooms. Whether you’re planning a weekend break, family party, or even your wedding, we hope you’ll find time to visit this beautiful part of the country, and enjoy our warm welcome and wonderful atmosphere.
But there’s more to The Sun Inn than great food and a bed for the night. Make sure you bring your walking shoes, so you can spend time exploring the surrounding countryside, with its picturesque Cotswold and Ironstone villages and historic stately homes.
The Sun Inn is a Hook Norton Brewery pub so has the privilege of stocking a wide range of its award-winning beers.
Hook Norton Brewery also produces a range of seasonal beers throughout the year.
The Sun also stocks a selection of fine wines to accompany the modern British cuisine food that will keep you coming back.
Mick has also taken it upon himself to put together a modest but interesting collection of single malts for the discerning palate. Ask behind the bar for details!
Amber and Mick take pride in the menu that they offer. As many of the ingredients as possible are locally sourced using Amber’s farming connections. Mick is originally a chef having worked in a number of Michelin starred establishments, including Champneys, Pennyhill Park and Rascasse in Leeds. He has cooked for Marco Pierre White, Liz Hurley and David Jason, and so if his food is good enough for them, they will make sure it’s even better for you!
Meals are often taken in the main bar area but a more private dining experience can be offered in the restaurant/coffee shop area. Just ask when you book.
After a long walk followed by a fabulous lunch, or a family dinner to mark that special occasion, settle down for the night in one our six cosy en-suite rooms. All enjoy lovely views of St Peter’s, Hook Norton’s fourteenth century church, at the heart of the village.
