The Black Horse is the solitary traditional pub in the otherwise entirely trendy Braunstone Gate, which is not necessarily bad thing. Being an Everards pub, you can expect a very good choice of ales (we counted six including a couple of guests), while the decor of dark wood and patterned carpets is warm and inviting. It initially looks rather small from front, with only one bar being immediately obvious, but a further snug room at the back provides more space for their interesting line-up of live music. Our Saturday evening visit found about 15 people in situ, but it's a small place so it doesn't take a lot of people for it to fill up nicely.
