Adam & Eve, Mill Hill
FancyaPint?'s review...
So I am probably bang on target for this pub and whilst I agree with some of the sentiment of the original review think it was overly harsh. Decor, furniture, layout, product range are all good - and guest in the form of Butcombe is on now which might help those looking for the less commonplace. The other brands on were all Heineken or Heineken part owned brands and were very well kept - if a little too cool.
Lunchtime was very busy for a Wednesday but standards of cleanliness, service and range were incredibly high - I was even offered a jug! Heaven!
I think you would go a very long way to get better and a new lunchtime express menu was really good value at £6 for mains - good portion size. One complaint was dealt with incredibly quickly.
I remember what this pub used to be like and this is not only significantly it is light years better - keep it up, we're impressed! A gnats whisker away from a "5".

Good pub - but possibly not for drinking in. All the tables are laid up for diners and whilst I expect a very warm welcome for every customer it would be significantly warmer if in response to the question "Are you eating" you said "yes".
Which is a shame and slightly odd given that the ale is good - 5/6 hand pulls occupied - and the wine and packaged beer selection is great. Function rooms are superb and the beer garden is great - and doubtless packed when the sun comes out. Smokers are catered for with a drop down shelter (nice addition) but those travelling here in cars beware the parking attendants.
Good pub - could be great if there were some space devoted to drinkers?

Hi All,
The Adam and Eve is indeed closed at the moment. However, we hope to re-open it under new management in December 2010 with a new layout and a strong food offering.
The 'Adam' is currebtly undergoing a much needed refurbishment that includes opening up the previously rather dingy ground floor area, moving the kitchen and WCs to first floor, converting the manager's flat into function rooms on first floor, hopefully adding a conservatory and sprucing up the garden.
We do hope that you can join us for the re-launch and further details can be found on our website.

How to find the Adam & Eve pub
Left out of Mill Hill East tube, its nearly a mile walk uphill. The 240 travels passed, while the 221 will get you part of the way before it turns off up to Edgware. There's a pub car park out front, too.
