This place has two things going for it - its location and a better-than-usual range of booze on offer. It also has two major things working against it - clientele and its location. Situated in the heart of Greenwich market, this pub will inevitably be popular, it's easy to find and it's a handy refuelling stop after a day spent inspecting the pricey tat on offer all around it. And in the evenings - especially towards the weekend, it's popular with kids, especially students, out on the town (well Greenwich anyway) with their mates. The Hardy once tried to be different, with a food shop and foodie menu, but in the end it bowed to the pressure - out went the shop and the menu and in came the "lounge bar" features with its pretty standard menu - and sure enough the crowds followed. So, despite the drink - there's a good range of real ales on offer, with regular guest beers - it's not really a pub-enthusiast's sort of place. However, if you're a student or young local out on the razz, you're probably going to be a big fan.
