Albert Arms, Lambeth
FancyaPint?'s review...
Off the main roads which dominate the area, the Albert Arms is a neat two-room pub with a bit of character. Beer mats, brass kettles and other ephemera decorate the walls of the two bars. Reasonably priced pub grub is on offer and a few wines, with three hand pumps sporting beers such as Greene King IPA and the usual suspects on the tap. Its proximity to South Bank University means some student clientele, but it's got a regular local crowd who are genial enough. Still, this pub has got things going for it and is one of the better bets for drinking in these parts.

This can be a nice pub to drink in - none of the other pubs close by the area are anywhere as pleasant, and the mix of locals and students from the nearby Uni make for a mellow group of punters. But avoid at all costs on a Friday, when a motley group of local Phil Mitchell-types turn up each week to get lashed and talk loudly and aggressively all night.
