All Star Lanes, Spitalfields
FancyaPint?'s review...
Brick Lane has enough bars to make a pub crawl either a very attractive proposition or a choice you'll regret in the morning. That said, if we had to choose once place to hang out in, it would be the bar at All Star Lanes bowl-a-rama. Part of a small chain of three venues, the owners have gone into rose tinted, 1950's pastiche overdrive. That said, it is a hugely enjoyable place. The staff are fun and friendly, the food comes in huge, tasty portions and the cocktails are superb. There are also plenty of American bottled beers available, even if we winced somewhat at the £4+ prices. It was all too easy to spend a couple of hours sat at the padded circular bar; so much so we never made it as far as doing anything as energetic as bowling.
