Allsop Arms, Marylebone
FancyaPint?'s review...
We were a bit disappointed to find this is no longer the slightly grotty boozer we used to love - the Allsop has had a bit of a facelift. Probably not surprising, since a lot of the clientele - during the day at least - is comprised of tourists, students and local workers. They still cater for sport, with the big projection screen testimony to that. Beer's still Greene King, and reasonably well kept. Sadly it's a bit soulless now - it felt like it could be just about anywhere. The wine bottle display by the entrances at one end just seemed a bit corporate.
