Anerley Arms, Anerley
FancyaPint?'s review...
One of the better pubs in a poor area for drinking. The Anerley Arms has a cosy wood and carpeted interior and is usually a quiet place. It's a handy place to meet up at Anerley station. Conan Doyle fans may wish to visit as the pub (or a namesake) is mentioned in the 'Norwood Builder' story when the ill-starred McFarlane stays here for a night. What Holmes would make of Anerley today is, without doubt, a three pipe problem.

Under new management since 2011, the Anerley Arms is a jewel in an area populated by less than average pubs.
Filled with lots of traditional and, I'm sure, some original fittings, the interior is spotless and really cosy and welcoming.
It's a Sam Smith's boozer which helps, however, with so few people knowing about this place means the beer selection isn't great.....Pure Brewed and Organic Lager, Extra Stout and OBB on tap. No bottles of Taddy, Oatmeal, fruits, Stingo etc. Which is due to that lack of awareness of the place unfortunately.
Right next to the station as well as being an easy (downhill) 10min walk from Crystal Palace.
This place is definitely worth a visit or three.
