Ashburnham Arms, Deptford
FancyaPint?'s review...
Hidden just a few minutes away from the bustle of central Greenwich, the Ashburnham Arms is an excellent place to draw breath over a pint or two of top-quality ale. The pub is situated on a quiet street in a very pleasant part of Greenwich and has a fine beer garden if you fancy a drink outside. It was given a makeover a good while ago - farewell bar billiards table, hello arty prints and loungey deco, but the style and standard of the refit is questionable and, apart from the fact that we preferred its previous look, we think Ashburnham deserves better. Nonetheless, the usual range of excellent Shepherd Neame beers on tap remains, the service is friendly and the clientele amiable - the Ashburnham is still a good pub.
