Food served all day and a reasonable drinks range (Abbot, IPA) get this place off to a decent start. A friendly atmosphere also helps. This is an 'all things to all men' sort of pub - it even has some 1-a-go guaranteed win games with a grabber picking up toys, that are usually seen in seaside arcades, for the kids. The pub is part of the Hungry Horse chain, who seems to proliferate ersatz-Harvesters in fringe suburbs. Overall, the Aspen Tree is a reasonable pub.

It's probably easiest to get the 103 bus towards North Romford Chase Cross from Romford station. The pub is at the southern end of Gobions Ave, between Chelmsford Ave and Havering Rd.
