Bank of Friendship, Finsbury Park
FancyaPint?'s review...
This pub is definitely one of the best in the area, it's a shame we can't give it a higher rating. It's a friendly place and there's always an interesting selection of locals drinking inside. It's predictably rammed on match days yet still retains a friendly vibe. There's a very decent selection of beers on the pumps, usually including Directors, Seafarers, London Pride and guests. However, some aren't kept to the highest standards and we've sent back plenty of cloudy pints here. Although the pub has had some work done on it over the last few years, it hasn't always been done particularly well. We were never expecting a mini-Versailles out the back, but the beer garden's new landscaping and furniture look really cheap and nasty. The interior is cosy, especially in winter when there is a real fire, but it's at the tatty end of the cosy spectrum and could do with some updating. And when we say updating, we mean improving. Overall you get the feeling that the management has done a decent job but should invest a little more to take this boozer up a level. In that respect, they're a bit like the local football team.

From Finsbury Park cross Seven Sister Road and head south down Finsbury Park / Blackstock Road. Keep going straight until the road leans right and rises. The pub is midway up the hill on your right, next to a zebra crossing.
